Report on the exhibition of the 58th ENC
The 58th Experimental Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Conference (ENC) was held at Asilomar Conference Grounds, Pacific Grove, California from March 26th to 31st, 2017.

The number of participants who registered in advance was about 830. The conference covered various fields, such as biomolecules, medicines, materials, hyperpolarization, metabolomics, MRI/MRS, and instrumentation, with 8 special lectures, 78 oral presentations, and 440 poster presentations. This year, new educational pre-breakfast “Highlights for Students” sessions started at 7am to focuse on discussing the basics were performed. Many young scientists made discussions here and there from early morning to midnight.
JEOL Ltd. and JEOL Resonance participated with a hospitality suite and presented a new top loading system for solid state NMR rotors, and a variety of the latest applications using our products.

Solid State NMR Probe and Accessories
On the first day, March 26, we held a “JEOL NMR Technology Seminar” at our hospitality suite. Here, Dr. Toby Zens, JEOL NMR consultant gave a presentation about revolutionary probe circuit design. Likewise, Dr. Ron Crouch, JEOL USA, spoke about a variety of tools for structure determination using our new ROYAL HFX probe. Dr. Yusuke Nishiyama, JEOL Resonance, presented the determination of crystalline polymorphs using solid state NMR and electron diffraction.
At the second half of the seminar, two invited speakers gave very impressive talks. Dr. Krish Krishnamurthy, who was an NMR Application manager at Varian, presented CRAFT (Complete Reduction to Amplitude Frequency Table), and Prof. Jay Baltisberger, Berea College, presented PIETA (Phase Incremented Echo Train Acquisition).

The next, 59th ENC will be held at Grand Cypress Resort, Orlando, Florida from April 29th to May 4th, 2018.
