Social Media Policy
Policy Application
The following stances and behaviors characterize the administration of official JEOL social media accounts.
JEOL Group Basic Policy
Social media is a valuable tool for providing information, promoting awareness of JEOL Group’s programs and services, and engaging with stakeholders and the public. When using social media, employees must conduct themselves in a manner consistent with their function and role not only as JEOL employees but as sensible business persons in a way that does not deviate from social norms.
General Requirements
Employees must know and act accordingly that:
- All conversations on social media networks should be considered public rather than private, accessible to the general public.
- Any post, photo, comment, etc. posted on the internet may be permanent despite efforts to delete them.
- Abiding by all rules and laws is no less important than providing information while using social media; especially respect copyright and image rights, and refrain from using ethnic slurs, personal insults, obscenity, or engaging in any conduct that would not be acceptable in the JEOL Group's workplace. Employees should also show proper consideration for others privacy and for topics that may be considered objectionable or inflammatory (like religion or politics).
Social Media Notices to Users
The postings on the social media do not necessarily represent the position, strategy or opinions of the JEOL Group and its brands. Please go to the news releases on our website for official announcements and opinions.
