receive
原義は「後方で受け取る」。送られてきたものや提供された物を「単なる行為として、受け取る」という意味で使う。科学科学技術論文では、「物質」、「電子や電磁波」、「機器」などの「物」が、物を 1.「(しっかりと)受け取る」、2.「(一時的に)受ける」というように使う。

1-1) At high temperatures, some electrons receive sufficient thermal energy to overcome the work function of the tungsten/vacuum interface.
高温では、いくらかの電子はタングステン-真空 境界の仕事関数に打ち勝つために十分な熱エネルギーを受け取る。
