固体表面に10⁷V/cm以上の電界をかけ、固体内の電子を加熱せずに外部に引き出すこと。

"Field extraction" is a technique to extract electrons in a solid to the outside without heating the solid, by applying a strong electric field (10⁷ V/cm or more) to the surface of the solid.
