結晶を構成する一定の組成の原子とは異なる種類の混入原子。格子欠陥の一種である点欠陥の原因となる。

Foreign atoms mixed in a crystal, which are different kind from constituent atoms of the crystal. An "impurity atom" causes point defect, which is one of lattice defect.
