原義は「(偶然)出くわす」。「打つ」という意味の一般的な動詞。一般的には主に、「(力の強弱にかかわらず)打つ、たたく」という意味で使う。科学技術論文では、電子や電磁波が試料を「打つ、たたく」というように使う。例文：
