試料から飛び出した反射電子が、対物レンズや検出器などの構造物に当たって励起した二次電子。
入射電子のエネルギーが数10 keVと高い場合には、SE3が発生する可能性がある。試料の情報を持たず、二次電子像のコントラストを下げるノイズとなる。

Secondary electron(s) excited by the collision of backscattered electrons with the components (objective lens, detector, etc.) of the SEM instrument.
If the energy of the incident electrons is as high as a few 10 keV, SE3(s) can be undesirably generated. SE3 does not possess information on a specimen and behaves as the noise to degrade the contrast of the secondary electron image.
